Until you read it and realize that the court just pretty much agreed with the school board’s assessment that the girl is a real brat.  Gawd, what a brat.  Plus school rules are allowed to be pretty fascist.  That’s what the precedent says.

Equality Myth: Should Women Flirt Their Way to the... →
zadi: bbook: newsweek: Well this is sure to cause an uproar. In today’s ForbesWoman, author Jenna Goudreau posits that women who don’t flirt are ignoring “one of their greatest career assets”—a valuable strategic tool (if used effectively), she says, to climb up the corporate ladder. … We’ve tackled this issue before. But, um, without the photo gallery of “tips.” Yes, excuse me whilst...

Dana Gould on reality shows
“My wife loves reality shows, like Real Housewives of New Jersey or whatever it is. I cannot be in the room. It drives me insane. I had this realization one day. Ok, you’re watching people that are not actors in phony situations created by people that are not writers. And the non-actors are second guessing how they think you would like to see them behave were the situation genuine, which it...

mikehudack: andres: soupsoup: One in five (19%) teenagers who have a @Facebook account no longer visit Facebook or are using it less.  To believe that Facebook will only continue to grow mind/marketshare in 2010 is as shortsighted as believing housing prices could only go up in 2007. THE INTERNET IS CYCLICAL, FADDISH, AND MERITOCRATIC. Andres is 100% correct.  We constantly learn this...

"Stop Building Facebook's Brand" - I disagree
I disagree with this analysis pretty whole-heartedly.  Facebook is, increasingly, a web infrastructure rather than a website. While it’s limiting to hinge your web presence on facebook, it’s also a little foolhardy to hang out a shingle in the middle of nowhere on the web and hope that people come to where you are. If you are trying to build your site user base for a specific end,...

inothernews: The United States has discovered nearly $1 trillion in untapped mineral deposits in Afghanistan, far beyond any previously known reserves and enough to fundamentally alter the Afghan economy and perhaps the Afghan war itself, according to senior American government officials.
